I have decided to run in the Broad Street Run, the local Philly 10 miler at the beginning of May. This has given me the motivation to really pick up the pace on my training.
Tuesday 3/ 27: 5 miles, 50 minutes
Wednesday 3/28: 3.5 miles, 40 minutes
I was able to run without much difficulty on Tuesday. My legs were a bit rubbery on Wednesda but thought a slow run would be fine. However, at the 3 mile mark my legs were worthless, it is nice to know my lungs had no difficulty. But the muscular fatigue in my legs was something I couldn't over come. I was forced to walk the last half mile. It is not a bad start to the week.
I received Runner's World today so that will be a good motivation tool for me to use for the next week. My plan for the remainder of the week is as follows
Thursday: Today - Rest
Friday: 3 miles
Saturday: 6.25 miles - I have taken the time to plot out a nice course and am looking forward to this run. I am not looking for any sort of time I only am looking to complete the course.
Sunday: 2 mile walk
It really is my goal to block out time every day. I am not sure if I will be able to run everyday but I will walk on the days I can't run, watching for muscle fatigue.
